TERM AND CONDITIONS We must be informed of any cancellations at least two weeks prior to the commencement of the course. If we are not informed in this time, a £50.00 administration charge will be levied up to 48 hours before the commencement of the course. After this time no refunds will be given. Whilst every effort is made to avoid cancellation or postponent of courses. Shepherds Bookbinders Ltd reserve the right to cancel or postpone a course, and will endeavor to give 5 working days' notice before the start date. Two-day Beginners Bookbinding course In this fun two day course you will explore single section bindings using The Art of the Book to produce a quarter binding which gives you instructions on how to make the binding. You will then move on to making a half binding and a soft pamphlet stitch binding. A great introduction to the fundamentals of bookbinding techniques. You will be guided through all the processes step by step.

C&G Level 3 Diploma |
Library Style Binding (2 days) A mandatory assignment in the C&G Level 3 curriculum. When books are likely to be used a great deal, or have a very heavy textlock library style binding will ensure greater durability and strength than a standard hardback case binding. During this course you will make a multi-section binding with split boards, hollow spine, cloth-jointed endpapers and reinforced corners all characteristics of a library style binding.

C&G Level 3 Diploma |
Edge Decoration (1 day) Edges are another suraface for the binder's creativity to shine but they are often overlooked. They act as an important protection barrier as well as being a key design element of a fine binding. In this workshop, Kate will show you how to achieve the perfect glass smooth finish to your edges and work through a variety of decorative finishes. From basic sprinkling and sponging through graphite, marbling, paste, guffereing and gold leaf. This is an optional assignment in the C&G Level 3 curriculum.
