THE BINDERY
| Our main bindery is at
30 Great Guildford St in London. It
is run by Alison Strachan and her Workshop manager, Tony Webber. The bindery has around twelve staff, all highly trained craftsmen and women. It is a hand-bindery, specialising principally in fine leather binding. We use traditional techniques and materials (see Tradition and Craftsmanship) but we are also a creative workshop experimenting with new design concepts. Over sixty percent of our production is dedicated to producing bindings for our Catalogue. We also offer a bespoke binding service, see Having a Book Bound. Our Restoration and Conservation department is based at Rochester Row. |
