Lost on
the Titanic was originally published in 2001 to celebrate Sangorski &
Sutcliffe’s centenary. Printed in a limited edition of 750 copies, the
book drew upon the company’s archives to tell the story of the Great
Omar, a magnificently bound book that was lost on the Titanic in 1912.
This new edition, a decade on from the original publication, has expanded the text and added many new images in order to chart the history of the company from its inception in 1901 to the present day. In particular the book looks at the key events in the early years of the company and includes the dramatic story of the second Great Omar, created during the turbulent years preceding the Second World War. As in the original publication, the book draws on the Sangorski & Sutcliffe records as its primary source of information. |
