Mark Peachey
Mark started at British Loose Leaf in 1976 as a trainee locksmith, but moved into bookbinding there in 1979, serving a five year apprenticeship. He worked at British Loose Leaf as a bookbinder until 1994 when he moved to the Cutting and Finishing department. In 2000 he began working in the Shepherds bindery and specialises in boxmaking, folders, slipcases and edge gilding. Mark will show you the most efficient way of making any box or folder with a minimum of fuss.
This course will focus on making slipcases, both square and rounded entry, on the first day, and lift-off lid boxes on the second. You will learn how to measure accurately, how to line and cut your boards, and how to construct and cover the boxes with cloth.
