Betjeman was not only a poet, but an architectural conservationist and broadcaster.  He was poet laureate from 1972 until his death in 1984. 

This volume holds a collection of some of his most evocative work, focusing as it does on the everyday lives of urban people.

Finely bound in maroon morocco with gilt edges, decorative endpapers of yellow chrysanthemums, and a beautiful onlay of chrysanthemums across the boards in orange, tan and cream leathers with gilt tooling.  Housed in a full morocco slipcase to match.
